Purchases of Chirican products will be for the Panama Solidario Plan

During a work tour, authorities from the Ministry of Agricultural Development (MIDA) took a tour of the facilities of the Café Don Tino companies, located in the community of Sioguí and Productos Liana S.A. in the city of David, province of Chiriquí.

It is important to highlight that both agroindustries are dedicated to the processing of national products. In addition to offering maquila or grain packaging services.

One of the objectives of this tour was to help Chirican producers, with the purchase of products for the Panama Solidario Plan, a program promoted by President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, in order to continue strengthening the agri-food chain, which directly impacts the national economy, generates jobs and helps the subsistence of families affected by the pandemic.

The inspection of both companies that are dedicated to the packaging of grains, occurred after the acquisition of just over 3,400 quintals of chiricano type vigna beans and breakfast, red and white, by the National Government, from the New Association of Rice Producers of Chiriquí (NAPACH).

"It was important that we verify on site the installed capacity and availability of the offer presented for the packaging service of the grains that we are acquiring from the producers for the Panama Solidario bags", highlighted the Technical Secretary of the Agricultural Cabinet Blanca Gómez, who was accompanied by Carlos Motta, general director of the Agricultural Marketing Institute (IMA).
