The program "See and Hear to Learn" of the Directorate of Social Projection of the Office of the First Lady, moved to the village of Susama, district of Nole Duima, in the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca, to the CEBG Quebrada de Guabo, whose registration is of 738 children, from pre-school to sixth grade.
The evaluation session by health personnel from the Specialized University of the Americas (UDELAS) consists of Speech Therapy and Optometry exams.
The First Lady of the Republic, Yazmín Colón de Cortizo said she was very happy with the arrival in the Ngäbe Buglé Region, of the program "See and Hear to Learn", which to date has examined more than 1,944 children in different parts of the country , between pre-school and elementary students.
"In the next few days, we will exceed 3,000 school-age children evaluated by health professionals. Many of them have been and will be benefited by this program that attracts students with visual and hearing problems nationwide, and who are also part of the communities included in the Colmena Plan, "added Colón de Cortizo.
Additionally, the Ministry of Health (MINSA), carried out vaccination, dentistry, weight and height evaluation for students, also provided health care for parents and applied vaccines against Covid-19.
Prior to the evaluation session, personnel from the Social Projection Directorate gave donations to people with health cases already evaluated in the Ngäbe Buglé Region, additionally, bags of food were delivered to families, school kits, soccer balls and backpacks for children, while for infants disposable diapers, milk and cereals were donated.
The Health Center was provided with thermometers and lancets for glucometers.
Rolls of cloth were also given to the women of the region to make garments.
