The Minister of Commerce and Industries (MICI), Ramón Martínez presented this Wednesday before the plenary session of the Legislative Organ the bill that creates the National Authority for the Attraction of Investments and Promotion of Exports (ProPanamá), which will promote, coordinate and execute policies and strategies focused on attracting good investments and positioning our exportable offer internationally.
During his speech, the head of the MICI stressed that this initiative is the result of the analysis carried out between different institutions, which evaluated, among other aspects, the movement of the flows of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) of the country that, as complements to domestic investment In recent years, they have been around 6% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Within the strengths of the ProPanamá Authority, Martínez emphasized the management of investment in sectors that become new engines of development, such as the knowledge economy, creative industries or technologies that are disruptive to industry and commerce.
